Format/Rules:

·     Race against clock.

·     Individual starts; men and women scored separately.

·     Medals awarded by age group and gender.

·     Also, awards for the 3 shortest overall times.

·     Starting times usually at one minute intervals.

·     Start order by age category, oldest to youngest females, followed by males in same age order

·     All riders must wear ANSI or SNELL approved helmets.

·     Brightly colored jerseys recommended.

·     Riders must stay to the right, except when passing another rider.

·     Drafting is not permitted (taking a pace closer than 6’ behind another rider).

·     No allowances will be made for mechanical or other mishaps.

 

 

Description:

·     The course is along smooth paved roads with very light auto traffic.

·     Starting with an undulating uphill run of about 4 miles heading south toward the peaks of the Olympic Range along O’Brien Road.

·     Followed by a nearly level traverse of about 1.5 miles along Old Township Road.

·     Then a gentle downhill of about 4.5 miles on Deer Park Road to the turnaround point for a retracement of the course back to the start.

·     There will be water and snacks at the start/finish station.

·     A technically equipped vehicle with cell phone will patrol the course during the race.
